Books & Brews, October 9 & 10, 2018

Our October Books & Brews features author William Geroux discussing his book The Mathews Men: A  heroic story through the experiences of one extraordinay family whose seven sons (and their neighbors), U.S mercant mariners all, suddenly found themselves squarely in the cross-hairs of the U-boats bearing down on the coastal United States in 1942.

  William Geroux wrote for the Richmond Times-Dispatch for twenty-five years. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Associated Press, and various regional magazines. He also has worked for Maersk, the largest container-shipping company in the world.

Martin was born in Kenya and moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia, in 2013 to pursue his education at James Madison University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Science and Technology in 2017. Martin joined WMRA shortly after graduation in August 2017.
