A man can't keep his sneezes to himself. A woman walks on stage to audition for a mysterious director. A gout-ridden banker is accosted by a hysterical customer. It's Chekov by way of Neil Simon in The Good Doctor, a collection of short stories coming to life on stage as Chekov writes them, spanning tales of love, manners, and dental appointments. Funny, poignant, and full of whimsy, The Good Doctor runs the gamut and will give you your bang for your rubles.

Hit 90s band Jimmie's Chicken Shack hits the stage at The Alpine Goat Brewery for a night of rock and chart toppers!
Not a tribute – THE original band! Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack broke out with their infectious blend of funk, punk, and alternative rock—scoring national hits with tracks like “High” and “Do Right.” After signing with Elton John’s Rocket Records in the mid-90s, they dropped the major-label albums Pushing the Salmanilla Envelope and Bring Your Own Stereo—both packed with genre-bending riffs, biting lyrics, and a vibe that was always just a little left of center.

Spanning three decades and stitched together by scars both physical and emotional, Gruesome Playground Injuries traces the unpredictable connection between two people who keep crashing into each other at their most vulnerable moments. Rajiv Joseph’s script is sharp, strange, and deeply human — exploring how we hurt, how we heal, and how sometimes, the two are inseparable.

This three-day creative writing intensive will take place from 11:00am to 3:00pm on July 27, 28, and 29. Taught by Samar Farah Fitzgerald, the intensive is for anyone ages 13-17 who is interested in the creative process. If you like tapping into your imagination, if you enjoy language, or if you just wish to go below the surface of things, join us for three days of in-depth (but fun!) reading, writing, and sharing. We'll look at how crafting stories--invented or real; in prose or verse--helps us make sense of the world and our place in it. No experience is required.
