CANCELED - WMRA Books & Brews May 13, 2020

Unfortunately, due to Virginia's current 'Stay at Home' order and continued concerns about spreading COVID-19, our special May 2020 Books & Brews, featuring Jennifer Ackerman discussing her book, The Bird way: A New Look at How Birds talk, work, play, Parent, and Think, has been canceled.

A radical investigation into the bird way of being, and the recent scientific research that is dramatically shifting our understating of birds- how they live and how they think.

WMRA's Books & Brews series is made possible thanks to the support ofGaines Group Architects, the official sponsor of Books & Brews. The Gaines Group has offices in Charlottesville and Harrisonburg.

Jennifer Ackerman has been writing about science, nature, and human biology for almost three decades. Ackerman is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship in Nonfiction, a Bunting Fellowship, and a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

Martin was born and raised in Lenkisem, Kajiado County, Kenya. He moved to the US in 2013 to attend James Madison University where he studied Integrated Science and Technology with a concentration in Information and Knowledge Management.
