In this weekly group class, participants will learn basic djembe techniques, rhythm-based wellness components, basic & intermediate rhythm patterns, traditional rhythms & songs from West Africa & beyond, and more.

International Guitar Night, celebrating its 26th anniversary, returns this year to the Forbes Center with a dynamic lineup! This concert features the awe-inspiring, multiple classical competition winner, Lucas Imbiriba (Brazil), whose music blends flamenco fire, Latin rhythms, classical melodies, and rock energy into breathtaking performances; Stephanie Jones (Australia), the acclaimed classical guitarist known for her expressive performances; Alexandr Misko (Russia), a modern fingerstyle innovator whose percussive techniques and viral videos have captivated audiences, and Taimane (Hawaii), who redefines the ukulele with her genre-spanning artistry, blending classical, rock, and Polynesian influences. IGN is a gathering of individuals who captivate on their own and then blow away the audience when they perform together!

Direct from Rome - experience the brilliance of The Three Italian Tenors! Making their North American debut, The Three Italian Tenors - Giovanni Maria Palmia, Ugo Tarquini, and Alessandro Fantoni - bring timeless Italian opera arias and beloved songs to life with passion, charm, and dazzling vocal power. Joined by pianist Fabrizio Mocata, this unforgettable evening blends romance, drama, and nostalgia in a stunning celebration of Italy’s rich musical heritage.

Stamp Out ICE is a collection of small artworks created in protest of ICE on perforated, postage-stamp-like sheets. The show features over a dozen artists from across the U.S. and Canada, including three from Minneapolis, all expressing their ire over the federal takeover of many U.S. cities.

Visitors are invited to view the collection of stamp artwork, create postcards, explore a library of mail art books, and see a firsthand demonstration of artistamp perforation on an 1888 patented Rosback perforator.

Charlottesville NOW, with support from Virginia NOW, will host bestselling author and journalist Beth Macy on Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 PM at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center, 416 W. Main Street, Waynesboro.

Macy spent 25 years as a reporter for The Roanoke Times, covering the stories of people and communities across western Virginia. Her books examine work, opportunity, and the forces shaping life in rural America. Her first book Factory Man chronicled how globalization reshaped small towns. Dopesick explored the opioid crisis and was adapted into an Emmy- and Peabody-winning Hulu series she helped produce and write. Her newest book, Paper Girl, is a memoir about her childhood and her lifelong focus on community and resilience.

The program will include a talk, audience Q&A, book signing, and reception. Books will be available for purchase through Stone Soup Books (Waynesboro, Virginia).

Anicira Veterinary Center is excited to host the first-ever Mutt Strut 5K, a dog-friendly event through Harrisonburg’s Friendly City Trail and Hillandale Park.
The Mutt Strut 5K is designed for dogs and humans alike. Every dog participant will receive a special race bandana, and runners and walkers without pets are warmly welcome. Whether chasing a personal record or just chasing squirrels, participants can enjoy springtime exercise while supporting a vital cause: 100% of race proceeds benefit Anicira Veterinary Center, helping pet families facing medical uncertainties when their pets become sick or injured.
The race starts at 9:00 AM, and March 7 is the final day to register and be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. More information is available here.

Enjoy a day of fun, exploration, and learning at the Virginia Museum of the Civil War! This discounted event offers a variety of hands-on activities for all ages. Join the Army and learn to drill, enjoy 19th-century games and activities, watch the Emmy-award winning film, Field of Lost Shoes, take a guided tour through the battlefield, learn 19th-century foodways, sheep shearing, and much more.

The discounted admission rate of $5.00 per person (ages 4+) is ONLY AVAILABLE to those that have preregistered payment due at time of registration. Registration is open from Feb. 23 - March 18, 2026.
