On today's WMRA's Adoptable Animals of the Week for October 7, 2026, we highlight four cats available via Cat's Cradle in Harrisonburg. Cat’s Cradle’s mission is to ensure and maintain a safe, compassionate community for cats in the Shenandoah Valley.
They do this by facilitating and promoting spay/neuter and Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR), conducting foster-based rescue and adoption from local shelters, and providing pet retention and rehoming programs. Their intent is to steadily decrease the intake of cats and kittens at local shelters and to ultimately end the euthanasia of healthy adoptable pets in the communities we serve.

Judy Blue
Female, 8.56 lbs, 1Y/5M/1W
Just like her bestie, Lucky Brand, she LOVES booty rubs! She’ll of course give you the death stare at first with the occasional hiss, but once you get that first pet on her, she’ll never leave you alone (in the room that is). Her and Lucky constantly run around upstairs playing and tossing each other around for hours at a time. They also have claimed a cat tree at my house, so it will be going with them when they get adopted!
Lucky Brand
Female, 9.81 lbs, 1Y/4M/3W
She’s a very shy girl but once she gets booty rubs or chin rubs once from you, she’s literally the sweetest girl ever!! She LOVES getting into tight spaces and is constantly running around playing with her bestie, Judy Blue. They also have claimed a cat tree at my house, so it will be going with them when they get adopted!

Celina is a cuddle bug! She is a biscuit maker, purr machine, and expert cuddler. Celina loves to play, is good with other cats and dogs, and we think she would do well with children. She is curious, but also loves being close to people. Fully litter box trained!

Domestic Longhair / Extra-Toes Cat (Hemingway Polydactyl)
Female, 8.7 lbs, 7Y/3M/0W
Hi, I'm Clawdia, a striking brown tabby Domestic Longhair with a special claim to fame — I'm a polydactyl with extra toes that make my paws absolutely adorable! However, with that adorableness comes great responsibility! Because of all the extra toes, I also have extra claws. And unfortunately, when I came to Cat's Cradle, a couple of them were growing into my paw pads. They were infected and really didn't feel good, so I had to go see the doctor. They were able to get the injuries cleaned out so I could heal up but they said to keep that from happening again, I need to have my nails trimmed every month. I'm not a big fan of this because it reminds me of how much they hurt before, so you might need to have help getting that done every month. At 7 years old, I'm spayed and litter box trained, and I bring a perfect balance of affection and independence to any home. I'm a gentle purr machine who loves attention, and I do wonderfully as a solo cat or I can coexist peacefully with other independent feline friends.
