Eastern Mennonite University professor, Mary Ann Zehr went to a closed city in China in the 1980s with a friend to teach English. While there, the teachers made meaningful connections, suggesting a path forward for easing tensions between the United States and China today. Zehr chronicles her time in China through a new book called Doors Cracked Open, and she’ll talk about it at Books & Brews on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Pale Fire Brewing in Harrisonburg at 7. WMRA’s Chris Boros asked Zehr about her time in China.
