Spring 2016 Fundraiser

This Spring, our goal is to reach $240,869.72 and to eliminate the need for a June drive! Thanks to your generosity and responsibility, we managed to raise over 80% of this goal without interrupting a single program!

(June drive, you ask?  Yep.  We've historically run four on-air fundraisers a year.  With your help, we'll cut that back to three!)

We can only do this with your support: please give now.

About Our Goal:

It's not a nice round number, is it?  That's because it's the exact amount we need to continue to bring you everything you get from WMRA, day in, and day out.  And it's the amount we need to continue to expand our service: to bring you more local news, to increase our shared understanding, and to facilitate dialog within and across our communities.

Here's the breakdown:

Support WMRA: News and Talk   Support WEMC: Classical Music

WMRA brings you news and information from National Public Radio, Virginia Public Radio, the BBC, and from our own local newsroom. Day in and day out, you can rely upon WMRA for in-depth journalism and reasoned discussions of the issues and events of our time. When you contribute to WMRA, you'll be making this valuable service possible.

Programs like Morning Editionwith Bob Leweke and All Things Considered with Matt Bingay, Martha Woodroof's The Spark, and our special news series (like Andrew Jenner's series on Becoming American, and Kara Lofton's reporting on Homelessness in Virginia) are all dependent on listener support.

Please do your parttoday: support WMRA!

WEMC is Virginia's first public radio station, founded by Eastern Mennonite University in 1955.  Today it serves the Shenandoah Valley with a wealth of classical music, including weeknight showcases of live recordings by orchestras from Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York, and around the Valley.
