For more than 20 years, Beale Street Caravan has been capturing and exporting the sounds of Memphis and the Delta region. It is our mission to celebrate the culture of our region by sharing our music with the world. Produced in the home of the blues and the birthplace of rock & roll, Beale Street Caravan covers the world with The Sounds of Memphis. Each week,our audience experiences the heartfelt sounds and colorful stories of Memphis music in intimate, live-in-concert performances.

  • This week on Beale Street Caravan, we have Memphis favorites, Lucero. The band celebrated the release of their new album, Should've Learned by Now, with a performance at the "World Famous" Hernando's Hideaway, here in Memphis, TN. Grammy nominated blues man, Guy Davis, will be with us to deliver an installment of the Blues Hall of Fame, an exploration of the lives of the pioneers and innovators enshrined in the Blues Hall of Fame, here in Memphis, TN, brought to you by the Blues Foundation.

Singer and guitarist, Mack Orr, has been a part of the Memphis blues scene for decades – originally playing in legendary group, The Fieldstones – and The Daddy Mack Blues Band delivers its blues real, raw, and funky. So, the party will be coming right at you through your speakers on this week’s show.

The Memphis guitarist released a double LP titled "The River's Invitation" that embodies the experimental spirit of classic rock while incorporating elements of blues, soul, funk, and Memphis garage rock. With a stellar cast of guest vocalists and a diverse range of influences, Parker's album and release concert offer a refreshing blend of old and new sounds, showcasing his musical vision and collaborative energy.

Most recently, he's added minister to the list. For some rock and rollers, that would indicate quite a departure. But for John Kilzer, it's all part of a bigger plan. On this week's program, we catch up at the Levitt Shell in Midtown, Memphis and talk about songwriting, his friendship with Teenie Hodges, and how his ministry uses music to touch lives.
