Despite Mitt Romney's big win in Illinois, his campaign is on the defensive Wednesday after one of his senior advisers told CNN: "I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It's almost like an Etch A Sketch — you can kind of shake it up and we start all over again."

A new novel from Shalom Auslander includes among its characters, Anne Frank. In Hope: A Tragedy, she survived the Holocaust and is discovered hiding in the attic of a house in rural New York state being rented by the book's main character. As Illegal Immigrants Increase, Israel Plans To Act
Israel has become a destination for migrants from Africa in recent years, and now Israeli authorities are planning to crack down on those in the country without permission. Israel is building a fence along its southern border with Egypt as well as a large detention facility that will hold more than 10,000.

High Court Expands Defendants' Plea Bargain Rights
For the first time, the Supreme Court has ruled that defendants have a right to effective legal assistance in plea bargains. In a 5-4 decision, the court declared that when a lawyer acts unethically or gives clearly wrong advice, the defendant may be entitled to a second chance at accepting a plea offer.

The latest Federal Election Commission reports shed new light on the political largesse of two Texas businessmen. One has contributed to three active GOP presidential candidates, including a new $1 million check to the superPAC backing Rick Santorum. The other just gave $3 million more to Mitt Romney's superPAC.

NFL Shake-Ups: 'Bounty' Suspension, Tebow Trade
The NFL came down like a ton of bricks on the New Orleans Saints, suspending head coach Sean Payton for the entire 2012 season over payments to players for injuring opponents. Also reported Thursday, quarterback phenom Tim Tebow is headed to the New York Jets from Denver, where Peyton Manning is taking his place.

Murray Lender, Who Introduced Many Americans To Bagels, Has Died
He took his family bakery's bagels, slipped them into plastic bags and in 1955 started selling them in supermarkets. Now owned by Kraft, Lender's makes 750 million bagels a year.
Medicare Board Draws Fire Before It Even Meets
The House is expected to pass a bill that would eliminate a board that is charged with reining in Medicare spending. But Democrats generally oppose the change, and President Obama has promised to veto the legislation if it ever gets that far.
