Need to relieve some stress? Tess Yergin invites you to come join the fun in her painting class, Introduction to Meditative Dot Painting. The class is open to ages 16 and up, requiring no previous art experience. While the focus is on freestyle, you will explore the whimsical world of dots as a daily meditative practice as well as sharing tips and secrets for creating your own colorful pieces! The second annual WATERWORKS new works festival runs May 17 through June 2 at Live Arts Theater in downtown Charlottesville. The three-week festival features 19 new theatrical works from local and global playwrights, 16 directors, and over 50 performers. Other featured works include Locally Sourced, the Charlottesville Playwrights Collective, and Community Deep Dive educational workshops. The Soil and The Seed Project's free ORDINARY TIME CONCERT SERIES is for KIDS, FAMILIES, and EVERYONE seeking a beautiful place to listen to beautiful music that helps us all recognize God in the ordinary. (In the church calendar year, Ordinary Time is the season between Pentecost and Advent.) The first concert on May 24 features musicians from The Soil and The Seed Project and includes music from the newest album release. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, a picnic dinner (as you wish), and lots of friends to share the evening with in the serene natural beauty of the amphitheater at the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center.

The Staunton Augusta Art Center announces the 3rd Annual Art on the Town Festival, Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend at the Sunspots Pavilion in downtown Staunton.
The Staunton Augusta Art Center proudly announces the 3rd annual return of the Art on the Town at the Sunspots Pavilion in downtown Staunton.Saturday, May 25 from 9 am – 5 pm and Sunday, May 26 from 10 am – 4 pm.Art on the Town will feature over thirty local and regional multi-media local and regional artists.This festival was founded as a summertime “bookend” with Art in the Park over Labor Day weekend.This event is proudly sponsored by Sunspots Studios Glassblowing, Ciders from Mars, Staunton Clayground, Brigitte Cowan, and Amy Kiger.

The Staunton Augusta Art Center announces the opening of its annual Youth Art Show, running from March 1 - March 30 in the galleries featuring the artwork of hundreds of K-12 grade students from public and private schools from Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County. This remarkable exhibition not only provides students the unique opportunity to display their work in a professional art gallery and allows the public to enjoy the multi-media artwork of students in their community. The Art Center works closely with area art teachers who curate their students’ involvement in this eagerly anticipated art show.This exhibition is proudly sponsored by Susan Polly, who annually supports these talented students and their artwork.
