Wade's Mill 26th Annual Apple Butter Festival

Wade's Mill 26th Annual Apple Butter Festival

Celebrate fall at the 26th Annual Apple Butter Festival at Wade's Mill (c.1750), Virginia's oldest, continuously operating commercial grist mill. Glenn Wilson will be making his famous apple butter the old-fashioned way, slow simmered in a 130+ year old copper pot over an open fire. Take a turn stirring with the long-handled paddle and take home a fresh jar.

Enjoy demonstrations and find unique, handcrafted work and gifts by local artisans and crafts people. Delicious local food and drink and music all day. Arrive early, bring a blanket or lawn chair for the music and stay all day so you don’t miss out!

Music: The Gypsy Hill Ramblers (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) and The Late Night Stumblers (1:30-3:30 pm.)

Demonstrations by the Rockbridge County Sheriff Office’s K9 Unit (11 a.m. and 1 p.m.)

Rocks Money Pit BBQ, Slice Versa Wood-fired Pizza, LexVegas Bistro Shrimp & Grits, Anthony’s Dawg House and The Raphine Volunteer Fire Company's famous BBQ chicken. Jump Mountain Vineyard, Halcyon Days Cider Company and Rockbridge Brewery. Blue Ridge Cider Donuts, artisan cheese from Razzbourne Farms, vintage apples from Redwing Farms, scratch-made treats from Creekside Treats, Sweet Berry Farm jarred goods, LL Mini Market jams, Bels Bees Honey.

Stock up on Wade's Mill 100% natural stone-ground flours, grits, cornmeal and mixes for your fall baking needs!

A scenic 10-minute drive from either I81 Exit 205 or 200, Wade’s Mill Apple Butter Festival is a fun family day out and wonderful way to celebrate fall in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Admission and parking are free.
