Shenandoah Valley Art Center presents: Zine Making Workshop with Lana Lambert. Why should publishers have all the fun? Have you ever wanted to make your own magazine, comic book, or booklet? This class focuses on empowering you to create your own small publications through accessible medias utilizing home printers and xerox machines. There is surprising potential for artistry and paper engineering in these handmade publications. Students will be making an impressive 5 different zine styles to learn just a few of the potential forms a zine can take. We'll discuss content and design as we go. It will be a jam-packed day so bring lunch and be ready to go! Lana Lambert is an illustrator, printmaker, and designer from Nelson County, VA. Educated at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington DC, she also earned her master’s in graphic design from the Vermont College of Fine Art. She enjoys sharing insights into improving your relationship with the arts, the benefits of creative practice in life, and how to best improve your creative practice.
