Shenandoah Valley Art Center presents: Photo Transfer Lithography Workshop with Joan Menard! Using laser copies from photographs or drawings, you will explore the world of lithographic photo transfer. Students will be working with "Pronto Plates" (a special type of plastic sheet) and learn how to transfer an image using a laser printer and acetone. This process is a good method for digital artists to take their image from screen to handmade print and print through lithography. Students will need to come with completed black and white images or have them on your phone; a laser printer will be on site at the print studio. Please bring an actual piece or photo of work to be transferred on a digital platform that is Bluetooth accessible Working size in this workshop is 5” × 7" images. Joan is a multi-media artist who studied Printmaking in college and has mastered many varied printmaking techniques, especially lithography and she now wants to share what she has learned to help other artists explore lithography.
