Shenandoah Valley Art Center Class: Nippon Pamphlet Stitch Bookmaking

Shenandoah Valley Art Center Class: Nippon Pamphlet Stitch Bookmaking
Shenandoah Valley Art Center presents: Nippon Pamphlet Stitch Book with Lana Lambert. Easy to make, these pocket- sized journals make great sketchbooks, note-keepers, or gifts! These little books are a break from the traditional pamphlet stitch binding in borrowing a little magic from the Japanese tradition of bookbinding. They are also a great way to use scraps of decorative paper. They can also double as a fancy presentation for wedding invitations, event invitations, Airbnb manuals, and other ephemera. Come and enjoy a quiet evening learning something new and methodical. Lana Lambert is an illustrator, printmaker, and designer from Nelson County, VA. Educated at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington D.C., she also earned her master’s in graphic design from Vermont College of Fine Art. She enjoys sharing insights into improving your relationship with the arts, the benefits of creative practice in life, and how to best improve your creative practice. Materials and tools: All materials provided w/tools available for in-class use. Students are welcome to bring a favorite decorative paper for the cover if they like. (Fee $40, Friday, September 26, 2:00 – 4:00 pm, 416 W. Main St., Waynesboro, VA 22980, register: www.svacart.com or call 540-949-0079)
