Shenandoah Valley Art Center Class: Drypoint Etching, an Entry to the World of Printmaking with Diane Wilkins
SVAC presents Drypoint Etching, an Entry to the World of Printmaking with Diane Wilkins This Drypoint Etching class will provide you with an understanding of the basics of intaglio printmaking. Avoiding toxic chemicals, we will scribe an image on a plexiglass ‘plate’, ink and polish the plate, and transfer the image to wet paper using an etching press with LOTS of pressure. Come get messy, experience an “Ah, HA!” moment when you pull the print! Take home two prints and a scribed plate. Diane Wilkins is an artist/educator who works in printmaking and pastels. Her art celebrates the woods and the ocean, often with children.
