SCREENING: In Search of Phillis Wheatley Peters

Join us for a screening of In Search of Phillis Wheatley Peters, a film offering a new lens on the life of the first Black person to become a published poet in the United States. The screening will also feature a reading of Phillis Wheatley’s work and a Q&A with the directors and Furious Flower Founder, Dr. Joanne Gabbin, who also appears in the film. This event is offered in collaboration with CMSS, AAAD, WGSS, and JMU's Department of English. Light food and beverage provided. Free parking for the event available in Grace Street Parking Deck
