Roots Run Deep: African American History Tours of the Shenandoah Valley

Roots Run Deep: African American History Tours of the Shenandoah Valley

The Shenandoah Valley Black Heritage Project of Harrisonburg formulated self-driving African
American history tours of the Shenandoah Valley that are open to all. These free-of-charge tours
focus on enlightening participants on the rich African American culture and heritage of the valley
by exploring various historic sites such as homes, schools, churches, businesses, neighborhoods, and cemeteries. This event celebrates the tour's launch to the public with light refreshments
and additional information about the tour. Special thanks to friends and supporters of SVBHP and
Crescent Cities Charities for making this possible.
