Organ Recital by Anne Laver

Organ Recital by Anne Laver
The Westminster Organ Concert Series concludes its 42nd season on Friday, April 14, at 7:30 pm, with an organ recital by Anne Laver. The program, entitled “Song and Dance,” traces the theme of dance across organ music from Baroque to contemporary composers, including works by Dieterich Buxtehude, Arcangelo Corelli, J. S. Bach, Lionel Rogg and Natalie Draper. Dr. Laver is Assistant Professor of Organ and University Organist at Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music, and has given recitals in Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and across the United States. Admission is free and a reception will follow the concert.
Westminster Presbyterian Church is located at 400 Rugby Road in Charlottesville. Ample parking is available behind the church, and the sanctuary is wheelchair-accessible.
The Westminster Organ Concert Series was begun in 1980 to share the newly installed all-mechanical baroque-style pipe organ with the community. The organ, built by Taylor & Boody Organbuilders of Staunton, Virginia, has 18 stops and over 1100 pipes.
