Obituary Writing Workshop at Augusta County Library

Obituary Writing Workshop at Augusta County Library

“Obituaries have next to nothing to do with death and absolutely everything to do with life.” — Margalit Fox

Discover what that means in Hospice of the Piedmont’s Obituary Writing Workshop. Through guided reflection, discussion, and writing prompts, participants will explore how to shape an obituary that reflects what truly matters to them. Together, we’ll consider questions of purpose, audience, and tone; gather the essential facts of a life; and review examples ranging from straightforward to warm or even humorous.

Whether you leave with a complete draft, a meaningful beginning, or simply a clearer sense of how you want your life remembered, this workshop offers a thoughtful opportunity to reflect, prepare, and give your loved ones the gift of your own words.
