In Celebration of 250 Years of American Independence

In Celebration of 250 Years of American Independence

The Plains District Memorial Museum will host a roundtable discussion of "The Indigenous People of Plains District." This exhibit at the museum provides a look at Native Americans and Forts in the Plains district in the years preceding the war for independence. For this roundtable event the museum is partnering with the local branch of Modern Woodmen of America.

The exhibit includes a model of a wigwam made by Museum
volunteer Joe Adolph and extensive artifacts from the collections of Charles Rife, Michael Driver, Joe May, and Mike Wean. It also includes a hands -on opportunity to make your own wigwam. The discussion is on Sunday, April 12 and the exhibit will be on display through July 2026. More information at the museum's website
