Feeling the call of the drum? Discover the joy of hand drumming during an Introduction to West African-Style Percussion Sunday, Aug 17 from 3-5 pm. You’ll also be drumming up support for the arts, with your $25 registration fee directly benefiting Arts Council of the Valley. The session (literally a hands-on workshop, not a performance) will meet at Court Square Theater (41-F Court Square). Mae Stoll, who has been teaching African-style percussion for 17 years “and absolutely loves it,” leads this workshop designed for rhythm lovers 18 years and older. No experience necessary; Djembe drums will be provided. To join the fun, sign up by 5 pm Aug 15.
