First Friday at the Co-op – The Center Cannot Hold by Emily Johnson
Come out to the Co-op for First Friday!
Join Friendly City Food Co-op on Friday, December 5th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for the art opening of The Center Cannot Hold, a vibrant and inspiring quilt show by local quilter, Emily Johnson.
In this collection, The Center Cannot Hold explores moments when balance falters and familiar structures come undone. Through color, texture, and stitched pieces, these quilts respond to times when life, death, and the political climate feel uncertain. Each piece traces the tension between order and unraveling, asking how we continue making beauty when the center shifts, loosens, or disappears altogether.
Stop by the co-op's café on Friday evening to meet the artist, view the work, and enjoy light refreshments from the store!
