Fiddler on the Roof

Fiddler on the Roof

Fiddler on the Roof is a timeless musical masterpiece set in the fictional Russian village of Anatevka. Based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl. Book by Joseph Stein, Music by Jerry Bock, and Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. It follows the life of Tevye, a Jewish milkman, as he navigates tradition, family, and change. The story unfolds against the backdrop of political and social upheaval, capturing the challenges faced by Tevye and his daughters as they grapple with love and cultural shifts. The musical weaves humor, heart, and reflections on the human experience.

The EMHS production is directed by Joy Anderson; assistant directors are Jodi Hertzler and Maria Archer, with technical director Mark Gornto. Choreography by Bin-Shin So. Promotional artwork by Eleanor Yoder ’24. Art direction by Malea Gascho.

The show will take place at the Eastern Mennonite School Auditorium, located at 801 Parkwood Drive, on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 3 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for center seats and $12 for sides and balcony — with discounts for seniors and students.
