Exploring da Vinci

Exploring da Vinci

Winchester Musica Viva, Winchester’s premiere semi-professional chamber choir, presents performances exploring the artistic and scientific genius, Leonardo da Vinci. Through this program we explore the intersections of art and science, with Renaissance compositions from da Vinci’s time, including madrigals from one of the earliest operas by Claudio Monteverdi. The program features the newly composed set of pieces, Triptych of Knowledge by Jocelyn Hagen, with texts from Leonardo’s notebook pages, and culminates with Eric Whitacre’s tour de force masterwork, Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine. The program will explore da Vinci’s impact on the arts, through a wide variety of repertoire with narration.
