DanceWorks Chicago is a contemporary dance company of six artists who are “always moving,” performing a diverse repertoire to audiences across the globe with integrity, passion and excellence. This year’s festival features new works by DanceWorks Chicago, including Purigado, choreographed by Rubén Graciani, dean of JMU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts and professor of dance. JMU dance majors will perform with the company in a piece choreographed by New York City-based dance artist Jess Hendricks, whose credits include commercials with iconic brands like Godiva, L’Oréal and Reebok.
