Christopher Wren Singers Portraits of Nature Concert
The Christopher Wren Singers (the “Wrens”) are proud to present “Portraits of Nature,” a free choral chamber music concert, taking place at Park View Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, VA on March 25, 2022, at seven o’clock in the evening. The concert will feature songs spanning from the Renaissance period to the present, highlighting themes of nature and spring. The Wrens are the oldest student-run a cappella group at the College of William & Mary. Members are admitted by audition and perform mainly in the Williamsburg, VA area. Their repertoire includes multiple genres of choral music, focusing mainly on Renaissance music, folk songs, contemporary choral music, and arrangements of Disney songs. This is the Wrens’ first time visiting Harrisonburg. In the past, the Wrens have toured to D.C. and several Virginia locations, and once even performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. “We are very excited to be able to tour this year and to share our music with the Harrisonburg community, which has such a long and rich choral history,” said Ceci Hughes, Wrens’ president and Harrisonburg native. “We encourage anyone who enjoys choral music to come spend the evening with us in Park View Church’s beautiful space.” “Portraits of Nature” is a free choral concert, and community members of all ages are invited to attend.
