Choral Evensong is a service of sung evening prayer. The interspersing of music—spanning from the Renaissance to our time—between familiar passages of scripture and ancient prayers, creates a contemplative mood. Our 2023-24 Evensong series, Voices Found, celebrates female saints. On Oct. 1, we will celebrate the Feast of the Martyrs of Memphis: Constance, Thecla, Ruth, Frances, 1878. Our guest choir is The Eastern Mennonite University Chamber Singers, Dr. Benjamin Bergey, Director. Dr. Bradley Lehman plays harpsichord and organ, and the officiant is the Rev. Joseph Butler.
