Suspect in UVa shooting now in custody; UVa football players were the victims
University of Virginia Police Chief Tim Longo says the suspect in Sunday night's shooting, 22-year-old Christopher Darnell Jones, Jr., is now in custody. The shelter in place order has been lifted.
Classes are cancelled Monday for University of Virginia students. After being told to shelter in place Monday morning as authorities searched for a shooter on and around grounds, the UVa Police Department said the shelter in place order has been lifted. That's after "a thorough search on and around Grounds," UVa police said in a tweet.
Three people are reported dead, and two others wounded, after the shooting Sunday night at a garage off of Culbreth Road on UVa Central Grounds. The shooter reportedly fired several shots at about 10:30 last night.
The Daily Progess reports that the three dead victims were all UVa football players: wide receiver Devin Chandler and Lavel Davis Jr., and linebacker and defensive end D’Sean Perry.

UVA has canceled classes for Monday, and all academic bus routes are suspended until further notice. According to a UVA Transit Service tweet, UTS will re-evaluate re-starting routes Monday afternoon.
