The Salvation Army has temporarily closed its emergency shelter in Harrisonburg while it reviews operations there.
Last week, WMRA and other outlets reported allegations from former workers of mismanagement. Karen Yoho, the divisional communications director for the Salvation Army, was not available for an interview about the closure Tuesday. But in an email, she said that the organization “takes allegations from former employees and clients very seriously.” She said the review of operations would be “from top to bottom.”
