Man found dead on JMU campus - Assessment Day cancelled

State police are investigating the death of a man found on the campus of James Madison University on Monday.

The university said they did not believe the man was a JMU student, faculty or staff member. Police said that so far it does not appear the death, on Grace Street in Harrisonburg, was suspicious in nature. JMU has cancelled plans for Assessment Day on Tuesday. The university said counseling will be offered for students in Taylor Hall and the Festival Conference Center from 1 to 3 Tuesday afternoon.
