Paul Bogard thinks you don't have enough darkness in your life.

In fact he says the vast majority of Americans have never seen a true night sky because of what he calls, "light pollution."

And it's not just a problem here.

The Virginia researcher has traveled the globe tracking a lack of darkness, the problems associated with it, and the search for solutions.

Guests:
Paul Bogard, Ph.D. - Author of The End of Night: Searching for Natural Darkness in an Age of Artificial Light (Little, Brown. 2013). Assistant Professor of English, James Madison University.

Additional Contributor:
Shanil Virani - Director of the J.C. Wells Planetarium and Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy at James Madison University.
