Heather Heyer, 32, of Ruckersville was killed Saturday in Charlottesville by a car attack.  The alleged driver of that car is in custody, charged with murder.  Ms. Heyer was peacefully protesting against right-wing hate groups that descended on the city for a rally.  A vigil was held Sunday night to remember her.  WMRA's Jordy Yager reports.

On Sunday evening more than 150 people gathered in downtown Charlottesville to pay their respects to a 32-year old local woman killed on Saturday. Heather Heyer, a native of Ruckersville, was marching along 4th Street with a large group protesting the alt-right’s rally, when a speeding car rammed through the crowd, hitting her and injuring 19 others.

On Sunday, the large crowd sought to mourn Heyer as people surrounded a large vigil of pictures, notes, and flowers, vowing to honor her memory by continuing to act against racism and bigotry.

Man: She stood with us on the front lines, she gave her life. Her last words were: If you aren’t outraged, you aren’t paying attention. So be outraged Charlottesville. Pay attention to the cries. This is what happens when you give white supremacy a pass.
