Amps, speakers, hundreds of rocked-out sweaty students, an annual invasion of the former Turkey Capital of the World.  A chat with two organizers of MACRoCk --the alternative music festival that thrashes through Harrisonburg each year.  Abby Chapple and Chris Donnell are among the group of Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference organizers.  MACRoCk began in JMU's student radio station WXJM, but evolved into an independent non-profit organization, according to their website, "perpetuated by the belief that music can thrive without a corporate influence."

Past performers that anyone might have actually heard of include Fugazi and Superchunk.
Past performers who are just fun to say include: Archers of Loaf, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Bowerbirds, Bracewar, The Dillinger Escape Plan,  Discount, Dismemberment Plan, Engine Down, Government Warning, Hot Water Music, Maps and Atlases, Mates of State, Mock Orange, Municipal Waste Obits, Owen, Pattern is Movement, Page 99, Pulling Teeth, Screaming Females, Slingshot Dakota,  US Christmas, and Video Hippos.
