The Reverend Russ Ford, who served as the head chaplain on Virginia’s death row for eighteen years, raged against the death penalty while ministering to the men condemned to die in the 1980s and 90s. He’s written a new book with Virginia author Todd C. Peppers called Crossing The River Styx about his time working with men on death row.
