Giving Tuesday Now - May 5, 2020

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity, as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

In honor of this effort, we've compiled a list of some of our area services and funds focusing on general commuinty needs, health care, food security and housing.

Harrisonburg-Rockingham COVID-19 Community Response Fund -  Grants from this fund support front line human services organizations that have deep roots in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County and strong experience working with those vulnerable in the community.

Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge - COVID-19 Local Response Fund -  Directly funding charitable organizations supporting the residents of Staunton, Waynesboro, and the counties of Augusta, Highland, and Nelson impacted by COVID-19 and the economic consequences of this pandemic. 

Charlottesville Area Community Foundation - Community Emergency Response Fund - Supporting households and community-based organizations in Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Nelson, Louisa, Fluvanna, Greene, Orange, and Buckingham.

Lexington Community Foundation - The Samaritan Fund is disbursing resources to local nonprofit organizations in response to the needs that have arisen as a result of the Coronavirus. 

Harrisonburg-Rockingham Free Clinic - Provides affordable sustainable healthcare services for low income and uninsured adults, primarily through volunteer resources and community support.

Charlottesville Free Clinic - Provides a high-quality doctor, dentist, and free medications for community members without affordable access to health care.

Sinclair Health Clinic - provides high quality health care to the uninsured and those on Medicaid in Winchester, Frederick County, and Clarke County.

Blue Ridge Area Food Bank - Serves 25 counties and 8 cities on either side of the Blue Ridge through distribution centers in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Winchester and our headquarters in Verona.

Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry - Provides food assistance to families and individuals in need in Charlottesville and surrounding communities.

Harrisonburg-Rockingham Open Doors - Provides shelter for the homeless in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham area to those who are not eligible to stay at other shelters.
