WMRA Program Changes Begin August 15

WMRA will be adding some new programs to our schedule starting Saturday, August 15.

Join us for 1A weekdays at 11am on WMRA.  Take what you hear on Morning Edition or All Things Considered and dive deeper with 1A. This show listens to the beating heart of America; featuring call-ins from across the country, from specialists and local visionaries. Expect a dynamic debate that asks America what it wants to be. This is a show for those who are relentlessly curious. Join host Jenn White on 1A weekday mornings at 11 on WMRA.

WMRA presents Think - weekday evenings at 9.  Think is a national call-in radio program, hosted by acclaimed journalist Krys Boyd.  Each week, listeners across the country tune in to the program to hear thought-provoking, in-depth conversations with newsmakers from across the globe. During each episode of Think, listeners tweet, call or email with questions and comments for the show’s guest.

Saturday mornings at 7, join us for A Way With Words - an upbeat and lively hour-long show about language examined through history, culture, and family. Each week, author/journalist Martha Barnette and lexicographer/linguist Grant Barrett talk with callers about slang, old sayings, new words, grammar, word origins, regional dialects, family expressions, and speaking and writing well. They settle disputes, play word quizzes, and discuss language news and controversies.

WMRA's legendary locally produced blues music program, Blues Valley, returns as a 5-hour program starting at 6pm Saturday nights.  Join Professah Blues for an expanded version of the show featuring the best in classic and contemparary blues.

Chris Boros is WMRA’s Program Director and local host from 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.
