Virginia Senate Primaries

17th Senate District (Albemarle, Louisa, Orange) - Republican Bryce Reeves is the incumbent Senator, running for reelection.  He is being challenged by Rich Breeden.  The Democrats competing in the primary are S. Ben Hixon and Amy Laufer.

22nd Senate District (Amherst, Fluvanna, Goochland, Prince Edward) - Republican Mark Peake is the incumbent Senator, running for reelection.  He will be challenged in the general election in November by Democrat Dakota Claytor.  Because each is unopposed within his party, the primary election was canceled.

24th Senate District (Staunton, Augusta, Rockingham, Culpeper) - Republican Emmett Hanger is the incumbent Senator, running for reelection.  He is being challenged by Tina FreitasAnnette Hyde is the sole candidate in the Democratic primary.

25th Senate District (Charlottesville, Albemarle, Bath, Rockingbridge, Nelson) - Democrat Creigh Deeds is the incumbent Senator, running unopposed in the primary and general election.

26th Senate District (Harrisonburg, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Page) - Republican Mark Obenshain is the incumbent Senator, running unopposed for reelection in the primary.  His Democratic challenger in the general election is April Moore.  Because each candidate is unopposed within each party, the primary election was canceled.

27th Senate District (Winchester, Frederick, Clarke) - Republican Jill Vogel is the incumbent Senator, running unopposed for reelectioni in the primary.  Her Democratic challenger in the general election is Ronnie Ross III.  Because each candidate is unopposed within each party, the primary election was canceled.
