The American Liszt Society Festival Comes to Harrisonburg

The American Liszt Society was founded 50 years ago to honor and promote the music of Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, with annual concerts and conferences around the country.

In 2010, the school of music at James Madison University became involved in that year’s Liszt Festival at the University of Nebraska.  This year, JMU’s Forbes Center was selected as the venue for the festival.  Yesterday Dr. Gabe Dobner, professor of music at JMU, and this year’s festival director, talked about how the 2010 Nebraska Festival led this year to the school of music at JMU and the Forbes Center.
