Books & Brews is an author series focused on discussions with writers from our area. This series is a collaboration with Pale Fire Brewing Company in Harrisonburg, who provide a wonderful space to explore these topics together.
The Books & Brews season runs from September to May and is currently scheduled for the second Tuesday of every other month.

Imagine sitting at home on your porch enjoying a nice summer day only to discover hog waste being sprayed on the roof of your house. That’s what happened to Elsie Herring when large scale industrial hog farming operations sprayed pig waste into the air as a way to get rid of it. The community fought back against the industrial farmers and won.
