Police look for suspects in pharmacy burglaries

A string of pharmacy burglaries last week has local law enforcement agencies collaborating to find the suspects. WMRA's Randi B. Hagi reports.

On Tuesday, February 8th at 1:15 a.m., two people drove up to the Harrisonburg Community Health Center pharmacy in a red, two-door Honda Civic and broke in with pry bars, according to law enforcement. They took several types of medication. Then, less than two hours later, the Fishersville Family Pharmacy and Stuarts Draft Family Pharmacy were broken into.

Harrisonburg Police Lieutenant Todd Miller told WMRA that they are collaborating with the Augusta County Sheriff's Office on the cases, as they suspect these burglaries are related. They're also examining another, similar incident that took place in Louisa. He said the suspects seem to know what they're looking for, because video footage shows them entering the pharmacies and going straight to the medications they want. So far, no warrants have been issued.
