Sting & Bill Gates On-Screen Live (and Free) in C-ville

On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, a TEDx talk with Sting, Melinda and Bill Gates, Zak Ebrahim, and Gavin Schmidt will be telecast live to various venues including The Paramount on the downtown mall of Charlottesville.  The event is free and  ticket-less....While the event runs from 11:30am to 10:45pm, the portion with the "headliners" (Melinda and Bill Gates and also Sting) is scheduled for 6pm-7:45pm.  Detail is on the Charlottesville TEDx website.

TEDx talks are independently-organized regional TED events. What is TED? TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design.  According to the Charlottesville TEDx website, "TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.... (which) invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes."
